WinBuilder has been redesigned and rewritten. It now can run on most host operating systems and processor types.
The application is written in Java. Java RTEs for standard host OSs and processor types are included in the download. Therefore an installation of Java is not necessary.
WinBuilder handles typical Windows elements like registry, WIMs, shortcuts exclusivelly with native code. No Windows API is used.
For the users who have Java 6 or higher installed on their host, there is a version without imbedded Java RTEs downloadable. Winbuilder.jar has to be started according the local Java installation requirements.
New users which do not have a Win7 source CD available, can start WinBuilder, type AUTO <return> in the GUI.
WinBuilder will
- Download a Win7 SP1 English source CD ISO
Depending on the internet bandwidth the download needs between half an hour (cable connection) and several hours. - Extract the ISO
- Define the extracted ISO as source for the build
- Download and install the Win7PE project
- Run the Win7PE project
- Build a bootable ISO with the built PE
